  • Relief Web  - is a project of the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) This site provides updates and detailed information on foreign disasters. 
  • International Disaster Information Network
  • PAHO Pan-American Health Organization -  PAHO works with the affected country to identify and assess needs and damages in the health sector, including water and sanitation systems; set up an epidemiological surveillance system; monitor drinking water quality; mobilize aid from the international donor community; and manage donated relief supplies.   • Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA) - The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA) in collaboration with the Disaster Preparedness Programme of the European Community Humanitarian Office (DIPECHO), is seeking to enhance the capability for a sustainable school disaster preparedness planning and education programme in the region at the national level .
  • Center for International Disaster Information - The Center for International Disaster Information provides information and guidance in support of appropriate international disaster relief.
  • ISDR - International Strategy for Disaster Reduction - The ISDR aims at building disaster resilient communities by promoting increased awareness of the importance of disaster reduction as an integral component of sustainable development, with the goal of reducing human, social, economic and environmental losses due to natural hazards and related technological and environmental disasters
  • WHO Division of Emergency and Humanitarian Action - The World Health Organization's (WHO) Division of Emergency and Humanitarian Action (EHA) is responsible for coordinating the international response to emergencies and natural disasters in the health field, in close partnership with other member agencies of the United Nations Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC), and within the framework set out by the United Nations Department of Humanitarian Affairs (DHA). EHA was established in 1993 replacing, with a strengthened and more extensive mandate, the former Emergency Relief Operations Division (ERO), to handle health sector emergency and humanitarian activities.
  • Coordination Center for Natural Disaster Prevention in Central America (CEPREDENAC) was established in 1988 as a coordination center for strengthening the capacity of the region as a whole to reduce the vulnerability of the population to the effects of these phenomena.

  • Interaction  - A coalition of 150 non-profit organizations that work, worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance. This site provides detail on the current situation, what organizations are providing what services, and points of contact.   • The Sphere Project - the Sphere Project was launched by an established group of humanitarian agencies. This project sought to develop a set of standards in core areas of humanitarian assistance in order to better the quality of assistance provided to people affected by disasters, and to improve the accountability of agencies. The Project was undertaken out of concern that a massively increased demand for humanitarian relief worldwide was in danger of outstripping the response capacity of the humanitarian system and could lead to inconsistent quality of relief efforts.
